Home Visits

Home Visits

We plan to visit every home at least once every two years, and some tenants are visited more often. We check that you are safe and well and that your home is in good order.

Before the visit

We will give you written notice that tells you why we are visiting. We will only visit without notice if you give us permission. If the time does not suit you, contact us and we will agree another suitable time.

What happens at a visit

Your Housing Officer will be friendly and will not rush you. We will:

  • Ask how you are, and agree a support plan or refer you to help if you want it
  • Check who lives in your home and whether you need any adjustments
  • Note any repairs, damp or mould, and report them to our customer service team
  • Talk about fire safety
  • Make sure you know how to report anti-social behaviour, including anonymously
  • Check the tenancy and whether your home still suits your needs, and offer help to move if it does not

If you need us more often

If you have a disability, a long-term health condition or another support need, we can visit more often, for example once a year, or phone you between visits. Ask your Housing Officer or contact us.

You said, we did

83% of you found home visits helpful and supportive. You asked for clear notice and information beforehand, so we now give written notice with the purpose of the visit.
