Our Annual Report 2024/25: Building Homes, Strengthening Communities
September 25, 2025At Arawak Walton, we are proud to be a multicultural organisation, serving and working within some of the most diverse communities in the country.
In recent weeks, we have seen an increase in the display of the St George’s flag and the Union Jack across neighbourhoods. For many, these flags are expressions of pride and identity. However, we do recognise that they are also being used in ways that go beyond patriotism — as symbols of intimidation and exclusion.
We know that this can be unsettling for some of our colleagues, tenants, and communities. As an organisation, we want to be clear: Arawak Walton is, and always will be, an anti-racist organisation. We will not tolerate racism in any of its forms and if we receive a complaint about aggressive or offensive messages in any form, including wording on flags or graffiti/vandalising of property, we will investigate and take appropriate action.
We are here to support our staff and tenants who may feel affected. We encourage open conversation and are committed to creating safe spaces where concerns can be shared. If there is a need for collective support, such as a group or forum to talk through these issues, we will work with our colleagues and communities to make that happen.
Above all, our approach is rooted in respect, inclusivity, and dignity. We remain committed to standing together against racism, and to ensuring that every person feels safe, valued, and welcome in our communities.
