With the addition of 26 units at Mary Seacole Gardens. Arawak Housing — Antilles Close is completed — 52 units Antilles Close is handed over (a Category 1 scheme for the elderly) adjacent to Bougainvillea Gardens.
Walton Housing Association employs 2 members of staff Wilberforce Johnson — full time Housing Officer, and Sandra McKenzie — full time Administrator.

The Housing Corporation approved a 32 unit sheltered housing scheme to be built in Longsight. After much searching and other challenging encounters the Board agreed to develop the elderly sheltered scheme off North Moor Road, Longsight.
