February 22, 2021With Dementia Untied, African Caribbean Care Group (ACCG) are starting a conversation to capture Black African & Caribbean people’s experiences of a dementia diagnosis.
Current NHS Ethnicity Data tells us that across England there are only 122 Black African and Caribbean people diagnosed with dementia with only 6 of these people living in Greater Manchester. ACCG is working with Dementia United to identify the actual number of African and Caribbean People across Manchester that have dementia.
Dementia United and ACCG want to hear about people’s experiences through their online survey which can be found here.
Questions can be answered by either carers or people living with dementia. The Dementia Call for Evidence Survey covers 4 areas of a person’s Dementia journey, Diagnosing Well, Supporting Well, Living Well and End of Life.
