The Empire Windrush Ship arrived at Tilbury Docks on this day in 1948, carrying hundreds of men and women from the Caribbean to help rebuild post-war Britain.

Today is an important opportunity to mark the huge contribution the Windrush Generation and their families have made to Britain over the last 72 years but also a powerful reminder of the Government’s need to act on the Windrush Scandal and compensate the victims.

Black Cultural Archives have an exciting week of online events celebrating the Windrush generation. Visit their website for more details: https://blackculturalarchives.org/
